About Us
We don't judge political speech. We structure it into data.
OpenTruth is an automated verification infrastructure for political speech. Our mission: make every claim verifiable, traceable, and transparent.
Our mission
Political speech is at the heart of democracy. Yet manually verifying the claims from a 90-minute debate would take a team of journalists days. Most claims are never verified.
OpenTruth changes this reality. Our technology automatically analyzes political videos - speeches, debates, parliamentary sessions - and verifies every factual claim in minutes, not days.
Our promise: the same process for every claim, regardless of speaker or political party. No editorial selection, no bias, no judgment. Just data.
What we do
- Structure political speech into verifiable claims
- Search reliable public sources for each claim
- Measure the degree of concordance between claims and sources
- Document our sources, scores, and methodology transparently
What we don't do
- We make no political judgments
- We don't classify speakers as 'reliable' or 'unreliable'
- We don't select which claims to verify - we process them all
- We don't use social media as verification sources
Our values
Neutrality
Fully automated pipeline. Same process for every claim, with no human intervention in scoring. No funding from political parties, governments, or organizations with a stake in results.
Transparency
Every verdict comes with its sources, confidence score, and methodology. Our limitations are publicly documented. Every verdict is versioned - never deleted.
Rigor
Two independent AI models for each verification. Source reliability assessed using a system inspired by the NATO Admiralty System. Standards aligned with IFCN and EFCSN.
Accessibility
Our goal is to make fact-checking accessible to everyone - journalists, newsrooms, citizens. Not just the large news agencies that can afford manual verification.
Our standards
International Fact-Checking Network Code of Principles (5 commitments)
AlignedEuropean Fact-Checking Standards Network Code (DSA)
